Synthetic Lines Are Simply Better

As strong as steel, and on average five times lighter and easier to handle, synthetic lines are much less likely to cause injury. We work with several types of synthetics, such as Aramid, HMPE, Nylon, LPC and Polyester, that can be used in a variety of ways in a number of industries.

Aramid

Aramid has a high temperature endurance for extreme environments. Aramid has low-creep properties and weighs one-fifth the weight of steel. Whitehill’s Aramid reduced recoil-risk rope designs are in accordance with the Cordage Institute and United States Department of Defense standards.

HMPE

HMPE is lightweight, floats in water and has exceptional chemical resistance for demanding applications . Whitehill’s HMPE reduced recoil-risk rope designs are in accordance with the Cordage Institute and United States Department of Defense standards.

Polyester

Polyester line has proven reliability for a number of applications. Polyester is often the line of choice for long-term mooring applications because it retains its strength and durability when wet and offers a relatively low-stretch threshold.

Nylon

Whitehill nylon lines have high elongation for dynamic applications, along with wire lay construction to offer superior fatigue endurance. Whitehill nylon lines are available in torque-free or torque-matched constructions.

LCP

High-performance LCP rope is dimensionally stable for static applications and has been created for various demanding uses, especially where low-creep elongation over an extended period of time is required.
