The VETS I-A 900 is a series of torque balanced buoyant ropes, which consist of an elastic center core with concentric layers of Spectra 900 and an overall braided jacket.

Spectra floats, and is pound for pound ten times stronger than steel. The VETS I-A 900 is an excellent alternative to steel for all applications where lightweight, small diameter and long lengths are important. Typical applications of the VETS I-A 900 would include; subsurface oceanographic moorings, balloon tethers and various scientific applications.
