Net Composites. May 20, 2005 - Whitehill Manufacturing has suscessfully co-developed with the Navy the next generation of high performance, safe mooring lines made from Honeywell Spectra. See the article in the Marine Technology Reporter. May 02, 2005 - Whitehill Manufacturing - U.S. Navy improves sailor safety with stronger, safer lines developed by Whitehill Manufacturing. These lines can and will be used in the U.S. Navy and in commercial heavy marine applications. See the article in the Forbes.com. March 2004 - Completion of installation of cell spar platform mooring lines for the Red Hawk platform located in the Gulf of Mexico. The Red Hawk field is located in Garden Banks block 877 in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico. It has been developed using the world's first cell spar facility. The field is operated by Kerr-McGee with a 50% interest, on behalf of Devon Energy (50%). It is located in 5,300ft of water. October 1, 2003 - Whitehill Manufacturing has proof loaded a HMPE deep water lifting & recovery line to five million pounds. Whitehill Manufacturing's U.S. Marine helocopter sling contract has been renewed and extended. This marks twenty years working on this sling set product with the Marines! Whitehill has been selected by the U.S. Navy to provide HMPE mooring lines for the 510,000 and 660,000 pound strength sizes. Whitehill has designed and produced lines for the Navy since 1983 when Whitehill developed and manufactured reduced recoil lines especially for the U.S. Navy. |
